TKTS Theatre Ticket Buying Guide

Whether you’re looking for cheap tickets or just want to pick from the biggest selection possible - TKTS is the place for you. Offering brilliant bargains alongside full price options for those shows not offering a discount – you’re bound to find something you’ll love at our Leicester Square booth.

London theatre performance times

Evening performances for London shows usually begin around 19:30 or 20:00 – but do check. Most London theatres are near enough to TKTS to allow plenty of time to get there, even if you buy tickets before we close at 19:00. Pick up an Official London Theatre Guide at the booth for a map.

Afternoon performances (also known as Matinée performances) can begin at various times. Shows do not have afternoon performances every day - most have two or three each week, one of which is normally on Saturday. We sell London theatre matinee tickets up to 30 minutes prior to performance time.

An increasing number of shows have performances on Sundays, but there are still far fewer Sunday performances than on other days of the week. TKTS is open from 11:00 to 16:30 on Sundays for many of these Sunday performances - and remember you can also buy advance bargain tickets for Monday performances.

Buying from TKTS

You can only buy in person at TKTS. You can see what's available on our wesbite or at the booth on the what's on screen. Full details of performance times are displayed along with the prices you can get that day and you can ask us any questions you might have. You will also be given a copy of the London Theatre Guide leaflet with your tickets (or you can simply ask for a copy) and this tells you everything you need to know about what’s happening in theatreland.

Alongside TKTS, the Society of London Theatre also runs the Official London Theatre website, which should be your first stop for all your theatre news. Plus, they’ve got a great theatre ticket buying guide so there are lots of top tips if you can’t make it to TKTS.
